I remember my grandparents always had Magic Shell ice cream topping when I was growing up. I used to love to put that on ice cream. My sister and I were always fascinated as it slowly harden. It really seemed like magic. So I was so excited when I found this recipe for making homemade magic shell in a Midwest Living Magazine.
It is so easy to make. You just need Chocolate Chips and either Vegetable oil or Coconut Oil. I used Vegetable Oil to make mine, because my son doesn’t like coconut flavored things. Just put them in a microwave safe dish and microwave stirring every 30 seconds until completed melted.
Pour over ice cream and allow to harden for 30 to 60 seconds. Enjoy! Store the rest in a glass jar at room temperature for a week.
