I love Downy Wrinkle Releaser. I have the really bad habit of forgetting the clothes in the dryer. Wrinkle releaser works great for my husband when he is traveling with his dress clothes too. The thing I don’t like about Downy is the price. It tends to be around $4.99 a bottle and I don’t see too many coupons for it. So I decided to try making my own.
I found a recipe here on making your own at home for much cheaper. I had Purex Fabric Softener that I had bought for $2.99 a bottle and I used 1/52 of the bottle. I also added almost 2 cups water. I just used an empty Downy bottle to refill. I figure it cost me around $.06 to make a bottle. Way better price that $4.99 a bottle. I think it works just as well.
- 1 Load amount of Laundry Softener
- 2 Cups Water
Mix together in a spray bottle and spray lightly on fabric. Run your hand over the fabric to straighten it and let it dry.
