We love deviled eggs in our family and Easter is one of our favorite times to make them. I had made chicks for Easter before, so I decided to go for bunnies this time. They were really easy to make.
Boil eggs in a pot for around 10-15 minutes (My sister bought me this egg timer a couple years ago and I love it!) Let the eggs cool for a bit and then peel them.
Cut a small portion off one side of the egg. This way they have a flat side to sit on so they don’t roll. You will want to save this part to use as their ears.
Then cut the egg in half. You can now scoop out your yolk and make your filling. We like ours with mayo, pickle relish, salt & pepper.
I put my filling in a plastic baggie. Then laid all my eggs bottoms that I had cut flat on a plate and piped in the filling. This is so much easier than trying to spoon it in.
I took the tops of the eggs cut a small slit across them. You will want to stop before the edge. It should just be big enough to get the bunny ears in.
Take the small piece that you cut off the bottom of the egg. Cut this in half.
Then use a pink food marker to draw pink in the middle of the ears. Then just slide both of the ears into the slit made in the egg.
I used a black food marker to draw on eyes and whiskers. My son loved these little bunnies. They are perfect to have on Easter instead of the plain deviled eggs.
