I have been picking up pineapples at Alid recently for only $.89 each. I love fresh pineapple and they are so easy to cut up. I have seen all those pineapple cutters everywhere for cheap. The problem with them is they cut away some of the best part of the pineapple. You can cut up a pineapple easily in 5-10 minutes without buying a pineapple cutter.

Start by cutting off the top and the bottom. Then cut away some of the sides. You don’t need to go so deep that you remove the eyes. The fruit right under the skin is where it is the sweetest.

Work your way around until all of the skin is gone. Now it just has all of the eyes on it still.

If you look closely at the eyes you will notice that they go in a spiral line. You can cut away a long line and remove the eyes without removing a lot of fruit. I just cut in a V pattern to remove the eyes.

Once you are done cutting away the eyes the pineapple will look like this.

You can then cut your pineapple into quarters. This is the easiest way to get rid of the core.

You can now easily cut the center part from each section and throw it away.

Now just cut your pineapple up into whatever sized pieces you would like. I am always surprised at how much pineapple I can get. I just put the pineapple in a tupperware and it stores in the fridge for days.

With about 5 servings in a pineapple you are only paying about $.18 a serving. What a great deal for a sweet summer treat.
