When we were selling our first house I was so concerned about the indentations in the carpet. I had hardwood growing up and didn’t know what to do about them. Our realtor told us to just throw some ice cubes on them. I was amazed, since then I have used that trick so many times over.
I used it again last weekend when I moved our couch. I figured I would take some pictures in case you haven’t ever seen it.
Here is the indentation in the carpet. It looks terrible and left alone would stay like that for a long while.
I placed two ice cubes in the indentation and then waited for them to melt. If you have dogs like me, you may want to put something over the ice cubes. I placed a bowl upside down, so they don’t eat them.
I wait until the ice cubes completely melt. It looks so much better now.
If the carpet still need a little more fluffing up I take a fork and run it back and forth over the area.
It looks great now. You can’t tell where the couch was. I love this easy way of getting out the carpet indentations.
